Anti-RacismThe Province IV Anti-Racism Ministry Network is conducting a survey in the province to determine what efforts are currently under way in the dioceses to address racism and racial justice issues.The survey, posted here, has been sent to all bishops and bishops' assistants or canons for them to distribute to the designated person in each diocese responsible for lifting up anti-racism issues. If you are not sure whether your diocese has a program or process to address racism issues, please download this survey and answer it on behalf of your diocese. ../images/customer-files//antiracismsurvey.docx Dr. Anita Parrott George serves Province IV as chair of the Anti-Racism ministry network, and as the lay representative from the province to Executive Council. A native of Mississippi, she grew up in Vicksburg, attending St. Mary's, a mission church and one of four African American churches in the Diocese of Mississippi. She has worked in diocesan racial reconciliation, bishop's search committee and anti-racism classes for deacon postulants. She has served as a lay deputy to General Convention since 2000 and serves on the Ministry and Education legislative committees. She also served several terms on Executive Council's Anti-Racism Committee, two terms as chair. She is a graduate of Alcorn State University, the University of Florida and Mississippi State University. Her 41-year professional career includes teaching at every level in the American public education sector in five states. In higher education, she worked at Grambling State and Mississippi State universities as faculty member, director of special programs and department head.
