Disaster Preparedness MinistriesThe Disaster Preparedness and Response Commission of Province IV is dedicated to providing the support and tools needed to keep clergy and parishes healthy and cohesive in the face of any type of disaster. A comprehensive disaster manual, adopted by the National Church with a forward by our Presiding Bishop, has been developed by this group and is available to all through the provincial website. Our current task is to refine plans for a disaster response team to be available anywhere in the Province to enter a diocese at the invitation of the bishop. Our annual meeting takes place in August in various locations throughout the Province. Seventeen of the twenty diocese within the Province are usually represented.![]() Sharon Jones, Ph.D. is a practicing psychotherapist at the Episcopal Counseling Center of Central Florida and a life-long Episcopalian. For the past six years, she has served Province IV as chair of the Disaster Preparedness (former Disaster Relief) ministry network. Backgroud which has been helpful to this position includes International Critical Incident Stress Foundation trainer and member, Kennedy Space Center CISM Team, Florida Crisis Response Team, Brevard County CISD Team and Melbourne Police Department trainer and consultant.
